Work For Us

We are a successful forward thinking Upper School based in a beautiful rural setting in the heart of central Bedfordshire with excellent transport links.

We offer staff the opportunity to work in a friendly, supportive community with talented, caring and dedicated colleagues. We have implemented a 1pm Friday school finish time to support staff and student well-being. Please see the charter below for our wider approach to staff well-being. We are very proud of our staff and students and prospective candidates are welcome to contact us for a tour of the school.

Safer Recruitment:

Harlington Upper School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Online checks and reference requests will be completed in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education, and prior to interview, and all offers of employment are subject to the satisfactory completion of safer recruitment checks and references including an enhanced DBS check.

All posts working with children will be subject to the disclosure of criminal records, and identification documents will be required as evidence of identity and right to work in the UK.  It is an offence to apply for the role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.  The post you are applying for is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. If you are successful at interview you will be required to declare any spent and unspent convictions, adult cautions (simple or conditional)  that are not “protected” as defined by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013 and 2020).
